. : Micah 7 : .

FREELY FORGIVEN

Bible Reading: Micah 7
"Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea." Micah 7:18-19

Even though Israel turned from the Lord after all that He had done for them, God did not reject them altogether. He welcomed them back and forgave those who were truly repentant.

We serve an amazingly forgiving God. Only by His grace are we able to even come to Him, for He is a holy God and we are sinful people. Although we sin and do things that displease Him, He is gracious and if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. It is impossible to fully comprehend the love and compassion God has for us, but it is not for us to fully understand, just to receive with joy, by faith. God's gift of forgiveness and righteousness is given to us so that we can go on living a godly life without carrying sin, guilt and condemnation on our backs. We are to receive the gracious gift of forgiveness with joy, and sin no more.

"Father, thank You for Your gift of grace. As I receive Your forgiveness help me to live a righteous life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."

God bless,
Pastor David Gunawan
