WOE TO THE WICKED

Bible Reading: Nahum 3
"Woe to the city of blood, full of lies, full of plunder, never without victims!" Nahum 3:1

A woe is pronounced over Nineveh for their wickedness. Their failure to live the godly life God has called them to live, results in a warning of a series of pending judgements.

How could the people of Nineveh allow things to get so out of hand? Did they not repent the last time? The people of Nineveh had allowed sin to creep into their lives once more and this time, although they knew it was wrong, their desire for pleasures of the flesh overrode their understanding of the Word of God. They knew what was right, but they chose the lust of the flesh. They had been told the way of God, but they chose to live contrary to it. Although we have received Jesus into our hearts, we still have to continue to make choices for Christ in our lives each day. We choose the life that we live and we must be sure to live it according to the Word of God. Do not let sin seep through the cracks of your life, but be sure to seal your life with the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.

"Father, keep me from becoming what the people of Nineveh had become and lead me on Your path of righteousness. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
