WHY?
Bible Reading: Habakkuk 1
"Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds." Habakkuk 1:3
Habakkuk observed the world around him and he was overwhelmed by the injustice and evil which filled it. He questions the Lord as to why He would allow all these things to happen, and the Lord tells him of the pending judgement that awaits those who choose to live such a life.
God is not blind. He sees all things and knows all things, however being greater and far wiser than us, many times He allows things that we do not understand. He has His own perfect timing and being a just God, we can be assured that He will surely deliver justice when the time is right. Often we want God to deliver His judgements sooner rather than later, but God often gives time for people to repent and return to Him rather than wipe them out immediately. Imagine where we would be if God struck us with plagues every time we did something wrong. Therefore let us be gracious, loving those who do harm to us and sharing the message of forgiveness through the lives that we live.
"Father, I thank You for showing me grace and loving me so much. Help me to be like You, showing love to even those who do wrong to me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
God bless,
Pastor David Gunawan
