SEARCHING FOR THE COMPLACENT
Bible Reading: Zephaniah 1
"At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those who are complacent, who are like wine left on its dregs, who think, 'The LORD will do nothing, either good or bad.'" Zephaniah 1:12
God communicates to the people His displeasure of those who choose to live lives of complacency and ignorance. He tells of how He will seek them out and give them what they deserve.
God has given us lives of purpose and destiny. He created us to live to the fullest and enjoy all that He has created. Many of us enjoy an abundance of material blessings, and we must be careful not to become too comfortable in our possessions that we miss the many other blessings God has for us. We are called to use and develop our gifts and talents so that we will be a blessing to others. If we ever become complacent we will no longer develop what God has given to us and we will limit the amount that God can use us. Therefore let us continue to grow and use all that we have for the glory of the Lord. Let us continue to learn and develop and continue to enlarge our vision so that God can use us more and more.
"Father, help me never to become complacent, but rather work diligently and grow for the glory of Your name. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
God bless,
Pastor David Gunawan
