SEEK THE LORD

Bible Reading: Zephaniah 2
"Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD's anger." Zephaniah 2:3

The people are here encouraged to seek the Lord and His righteousness before it is too late. This is a call to repent and turn from their evil ways, and to pursue the things of God.

We must never think that we can continue living a life of sin, merely relying on the grace of God. When we know that something is wrong, we must be quick to ask God for forgiveness and then purpose in our heart never to do such things again. We are encouraged here to make God the object of our focus, not striving for pleasure or other things in this world. His righteousness is what we ought to aspire towards and living a life that glorifies Him should be our preoccupation. As long as God is not at the centre of our lives, we will never truly live life to the fullness that God has intended us to live. Therefore let us humble ourselves and seek the Lord with all our heart. Let us place Him at the centre of our lives, allow Him to steer it in a holy direction.

"Father, as I seek You and Your righteousness, help me to live a life that glorifies Your name. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
