LOVING YOU

Bible Reading: Zephaniah 3
"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17

Although they do not deserve it, the Lord graciously tells of how He will lavish His people with love and abundant blessings. He will rescue them in their times of need and save them by His mighty power.

We too are undeserving of what the Lord has graciously lavished on us. We were lost in sin and separated from God, and He reached down and met us when we needed Him most. God wants us to know that He did not merely reach out to us for salvation's sake, but so that we could continue to grow in our relationship with Him. A man pursuing a relationship with a woman does not merely stop at a first encounter. He continues to pursue her and build their relationship to the point where they reach a oneness of heart. In the same way, God pursues us not just for the initial encounter, but for the ongoing relationship. Let us not push Him away, but rather reach out to Him and embrace Him with our whole heart.

"Father, I desire to know You more. As I reveal my heart to You, I pray that You will reveal Your heart to me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
