THE REALITY OF JUDGEMENT

Bible Reading: Zechariah 5
"The LORD Almighty declares, 'I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of him who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in his house and destroy it, both its timbers and its stones.'" Zechariah 5:4

This chapter speaks of the pending judgement that awaits those who are not living in the ways of the Lord. Destruction lies ahead of those who continue to reject the Word of the Lord and do evil.

Having heard the Word of God, we now have a decision to make. We can either heed what God has said or we can ignore everything we have heard. We must decide how we will allow the Word of God to affect our lives. While God has promised us many blessings for living a life that is righteous and God-fearing, there is also a flip side that is unpleasant. Whether we like it or not, there is judgement and destruction awaiting those who continue living a life of wickedness and injustice. We must not be ignorant of this fact, for the future of many of our friends and family may rest in our hands. We may be the only ones who can take the message of grace and righteousness to them. Therefore let us be mindful of the reality of God's judgement and let us be motioned into a state of urgency.

"Father, I realise that as much as Your blessings are real, so are Your judgements. Help me not to be complacent, but use my time wisely to preach Your Word. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
