CLEANSING
Bible Reading: Zechariah 13
"On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity." Zechariah 13:1
What God desires is a people of holiness and righteousness. Here He speaks of a time when He will bring about a cleansing of sin and impurity so that His people will be spotless.
God is holy and in order for us to come to Him and know Him intimately, we too must be holy. We must walk in the path of righteousness and continue to live out the Word of God in our lives. It is not sufficient to play with the grace of God and continue living a sinful life, but as Jesus said to many that He touched, 'go and sin no more'. When we sincerely come before the cross and ask for forgiveness from our Lord, we must also come with a heart of repentance that desires to never do such wickedness again. We must be so sorry about our actions that we purpose in our heart to never do them again. Walking with God is a journey and we will not be perfect immediately, but we must continually strive to live a life of holiness, reflecting our Father's image for all to see.
"Father, help me to live a holy life. Cleanse me of my sin and may I never return to my old ways. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
God bless,
Pastor David Gunawan
