A PRIEST

Bible Reading: Malachi 2
"For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, and from his mouth men should seek instruction ó because he is the messenger of the LORD Almighty." Malachi 2:7

The Lord expected the priests to teach the Word and pass on the knowledge of the Scriptures, however they failed to do so, and instead caused people to stumble because of their teaching.

Because of what Jesus has done, all of us who are Christ followers are now a royal priesthood. We have a mandate to teach the Word and make disciples of all nations. We have a responsibility to grow in our knowledge of the Word and we are to disciple others in the Truth. Given this responsibility, we must be very careful not to lead others astray and we must seriously consider what we are teaching others - not just in what we say, but in the way we live and conduct our lives. Our character plays an incredibly influential role in discipleship, and we must therefore devote ourselves to building our character each day. Let us consider the way that we build disciples and be people who live up to the title of priest.

"Father, fill me with Your wisdom and strength to be able to lead others to follow You and may I be a priest who accurately represents You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."
