THE FLOODGATES OF HEAVEN

Bible Reading: Malachi 3
"'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the LORD Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.'" Malachi 3:10

The Lord challenges His people regarding their giving. For too long they had 'robbed' Him by withholding what was rightfully His. God had commanded that they give Him a tithe - ten percent of all they earned, yet they could not even obey God in this.

Particularly in the area of giving, God challenges us to obey Him so that we will receive much greater blessings than we could ever imagine. By bringing in our tithes to the house of the Lord, or the church in which we are planted, we not only provide for those who require it, but we also release the floodgates of heaven to pour into our lives. Obedience to God in giving releases His hand of blessing in such great abundance that we will not be able to contain all He pours out on us. Therefore let us cheerfully give to God the tithe that belongs to Him so that He will be able to lavish us with His greatest blessings.

"Father, as I give my tithes and offerings to You, I give with joy knowing that I am able to be a blessing and that I will be blessed beyond measure. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
